Children’s Medical Research Institute (CMRI) has teamed up with Inspired Adventures to bring you on an adventure-of-a-lifetime. As part of CMRI – 3 Peaks Adventure NSW 2022, you’ll trek to the summit of Australia’s highest mountain Mount Kosciuszko, to advance the treatment and prevention of children's genetic diseases, including cancer – with every step you take giving more children the opportunity for a healthy start to life.
About this adventure
On this epic three-day adventure, you’ll follow well-worn tracks under the light of the stars, you’ll trek up above Lake Cootapatamba – Australia’s highest lake, between rolling peaks, past historic huts, granite rock formations and weathered snow gums, along a gently winding path to the summit.
Best of all, with every step you take, you’ll raise vital funds for world-leading research to find cures for children’s genetic diseases.

How challenging is this adventure?
This adventure is ranked 3/5. While no extensive trekking experience is required prior to registering, our adventures are specifically designed for people who are relatively fit and willing to train. Summiting Mount Kosciuszko is a physical challenge, involving trekking approximately 18 kilometres in a single day. The fitter you are, the more you’ll enjoy the experience.
You’ll be well supported on the adventure, with the guides and your team all cheering you on. You’re free to move at your own pace and we’ll take frequent breaks.
How do I fundraise?
Never fundraised before? Not sure where to start? No worries, we don’t expect you to do it alone. You will have regular support from the Inspired Adventures fundraising team, who will help you make a fundraising plan to meet your target. Alongside personalised coaching, we will also send you lots of ideas and resources on how to fundraise. From online fundraising to trivia nights, to bake sales and out-of-the-box ideas, we have years and years of tried and tested tips to make your fundraising a success.
