Why I’m doing it
I am fundraising for this important research, as it could help change the lives of those with vision-related conditions. The researchers are very close to finding a solution for my particular eye condition, which is something I never thought would happen in my lifetime and may benefit many in the future. As I have been completely blind from birth, I learned to adapt in a world designed for sighted people and always make the most of opportunities given to me, despite facing accessibility challenges and needing to advocate for more inclusion, which I am passionate about but it’s hard work.Your support may seem like a small contribution, however, the sum of the whole can have a huge impact. The sooner money is raised, the sooner this research can advance to the next trial phase. All this takes time, years of testing and then waiting for approval by medical authorities. The time to start is now so the results may be seen within the next 10 - 20 years.
