Virbac's Jeans for Genes

By Jess Hardy

Why I’m doing it

My name is Jess, and I work in the QC Bios team. I was born with Spina Bifida, a neural tube defect that has caused nerve damage to the lower half of my body. However, I’m one of the lucky ones who has made it into adulthood and now lives a relatively average life, something many people who suffer with some of these conditions could only dream to have.

While I have many happy and nostalgic memories from my childhood like anyone else, my early years were also filled with hospital visits, surgeries, medical procedures, and more tears than I care to count, begging my parents to make it stop. It’s a large part of my story that has shaped who I am today, but it’s also why this cause means so much to me.
