2023 Trans Tasmania Enduro

By Anton Hsu

Why I’m doing it

I've partnered with CMRI for my first fundraising challenge to support our very own research finding better treatments and cures for the 1 in 20 children born with a genetic disease.

I'll be racing the 2023 Trans Tasmania Enduro, a five-day enduro mountain bike race across some of the best trails Tasmania has to offer!

Every dollar raised goes towards supporting our research here at CMRI, including my own doctorate research on the molecular underpinnings of paediatric and adult cancers.

Along the way I'm aiming to raise $3,500 - help support my initiative racing the Trans Tasmania Enduro to raise funds for research into children's genetic diseases!

My Updates

A Final Word

Saturday 18th Feb
With the dust starting to settle it’s time to extend a last huge thank you to everyone who donated, from family to members of the public, domestic and abroad! Not only did we meet our original goal of $3,000, we exceeded it, and right in the last few days of the race - you just can’t write it! Together we’ve helped fund our ongoing research at CMRI, invested in our up and coming scientific leaders, and contributed to the development of better therapeutics in the ongoing fight against children’s cancer. Thank you!

Five days of racing done and dusted!

Saturday 18th Feb
Well that’s a wrap on five gruelling days of racing around Tassie! Tally comes to over 5,000 meters of climbing and 7,500 meters of timed descents over 120 km of the best mtb trails Tassie has to offer! One crash without injury and no major mechanicals and I can count myself among the lucky few! And finished in a not-too-shabby 29th overall to tie it all up

Day Five | Final stages

Saturday 18th Feb
Second day in Derby and last day of the event saw 1200 meters of descent over six stages so we didn’t get off easy!

Day Four | The Crack

Friday 17th Feb
In Derby now for the penultimate day where we saw some of the quintessential features of the event including this heart-stopping rock crack with only a couple inches of wiggle room… the trail name “Detonate” tells you what happened to plenty of riders on their way through!

Live from the trailside on ABC Hobart!

Thursday 16th Feb
We’re almost as close to our fundraising goal as I was to stacking it on this drop! Couple more donations and we’ll have it!

Day 3 | Alpine ridges in Queenstown

Thursday 16th Feb
From the lush rainforests of Maydena to some epic alpine exposure in Queenstown, Day Three demanded an entirely different style of riding with some savage gravel climbs thrown in for good measure
